How to position the pump
To lower or raise the pump, please use a suitable lowering rope, but never the pressure hose
or the connection cable.
To lower the pump down into or lift it out of the liquid, one has to use a lowering rope suitable for this purpose.
Please use a rope made of stainless steel or synthetic materials such as nylon. Considering the risk of breaking
involved, ropes which tend to the formation of rust, weathering, mouldering etc must not be used. The rope does
not only have to bear the weight of the pump plus that of the water-filled pressure line and the connection cable, it
also has to resist to the strain occurring in operation.
The standard equipment of this model includes a high-grade lowering rope (1).
To fasten the rope to the pump, please use the two eyelets (2) located at the upper part of the unit. Make sure
that the pump will move into a vertical position when lifted up with the rope.
The lowering rope, the connection cable (3) and the pressure line have to be tied together at distance intervals of
about 2 m using a suitable adhesive tape or cable ties to keep them from getting entangled while the pump is
raised or lowered.
Carefully lower the pump with the lowering rope down into liquid to be discharged. Make sure that the unit will not
bump or rub against the circumference of the cavity.
The unit must be fully immersed in the liquid.
The minimum distance from the ground should be 0.5 m to prevent sludge, sand, stones etc from being sucked in.
In order to be sure of this positioning it is advisable to set the pump down on the bottom of the well shaft and to
mark this submersion depth on the tensioned cord. Make a second marking 0.5 m below this (i.e. towards the
pump). Now draw the pump upwards 50 cm and fasten the device in place at this position whilst observing the
second marking. Please note that the maximum submersion depth of the pump in liquid is 20 m
6. Electrical connection
The unit is equipped with a mains connection cable and a mains plug. It must only be replaced by qualified staff to
avoid any danger. Please do not use the mains connection cable to carry the pump, and do not use this cable to
pull off the plug from the socket, either. Protect the mains connection cable and mains plug from heat, oil or sharp
edges.
The values stated in the technical details have to correspond to the mains voltage. The person
responsible for the installation has to make sure that the electrical connection is earthed in
compliance with the applicable standards.
The electrical connection has to be equipped with a highly sensitive residual current circuit-
breaker (FI switch): ∆ = 30 mA (DIN VDE 0100-739).
If extension cables are used, their cross-section must not be smaller than that of rubber-
sheathed cables of the H07RN-F (3 x 1.0 mm²) short code. The mains socket and the plug-
and-socket elements have to be in splash water-proof design.
7. Putting into operation
Nobody must be in the water while the pump is running.
The pump must only be operated in the performance range indicated on the type plate.
Dry-running - i.e. operating the pump without discharging water - is to be avoided since the
absence of water may cause the pump to run hot. This may cause considerable damage on
the device.
Please make sure that the electrical plug connections are in the flood-proof area.
As long as the device is connected to the electrical mains, one must never reach with one's
hands into the opening of the pump.
The pump must not run while the pressure port or the pressure line are closed.
