Dräger X-plore 1360 R95 M/L
Dräger X-plore 1360 R95 V S/M
Dräger X-plore 1360 R95 V M/L
All the particulate respirators are available in two sizes respectively:
small/medium ("S/M") and medium/large ("M/L").
Most of the particulate respirators feature an exhalation valve ("V")
which facilitates exhalation during use.
Intended Use
The particulate respirators are designed to reduce the percentage of
certain solid and liquid airborne particles that a user will inhale when
working in certain environments. The particulate respirators do NOT
eliminate the risk of contracting disease, infection, or illness.
The X-plore 1350 particulate respirators may be used for airborne solid
particles such as from grinding, sanding, sweeping, sawing or
processing minerals; and for liquid particles or particulate aerosols that
do not contain oil. The X-plore 1360 particulate respirators may be used
for the same purposes as the X-plore 1350 and, in addition, they are
resistant to oil.
X-plore 1350 is NIOSH-rated for 95 % filtration efficiency against solid
and liquid aerosols that do not contain oil ("N95"). X-plore 1360 is
NIOSH-rated for 95 % filtration efficiency against solid and liquid
aerosols that do contain oil ("R95").
X-plore 1350 N95 V Odor S/M and X-plore 1350 N95 V Odor M/L
have an additional activated-carbon filter to provide relief from nuisance
level odors of organic vapors. Nuisance level means that the
contaminant concentration is below the respective permissible
exposure limit (PEL). Do NOT use these particulate respirators if the
nuisance level exceeds the PEL.
The particulate respirators' performance characteristics - e.g. the types
and percentages of the particles that they filter - fulfill the National
Institute of Occupational Safety and Health ("NIOSH") standards set
forth at 42 CFR, Part 84. For more information see Approval Label.
WARNING
Only use the particulate respirators for the purposes
mentioned above.
Misuse could lead to sickness or death!
Limitations on Use
WARNING
Strictly obey the following limitations on use.
Failure to do so could lead to sickness or death!

— other contaminants that are unknown, carcinogenic, or
immediately dangerous to life or health.
— Never use Dräger X-plore 1350 particulate respirators in
atmospheres containing oil aerosols.
— Never use the particulate respirators in atmospheres with
contaminant concentrations that exceed10 times the Permissible
Exposure Limit (PEL), specific OSHA standards, or other applicable
regulations, whichever is lower. For PELs please refer to NIOSH
standard 29 CFR 1910.1000.
General Warnings and Cautions
Strictly adhere to the following warnings and cautions.
Failure to do so could lead to sickness or death!
— A properly selected particulate respirator is essential to protect your
health. Before using this particulate respirator, consult an Industrial
Hygienist or Occupational Safety Professional to determine the
suitability for your intended use.
— Particulate respirators that are properly selected and fitted will only
reduce the contaminant concentration. They do NOT eliminate the
risk of contracting disease or infection.
— This product contains latex. It is located inside the head straps of the
respirator. If used properly, the latex in the respirator will not come
Order Number
into contact with user's skin. If you are allergic to latex, you must
39 51 220
consult your physician before using this product.
39 51 230
— This respirator can help reduce inhalation exposures to certain
39 51 221
airborne biological particles (e.g. mold, Bacillus anthracis,
39 51 231
Mycobacterium tuberculosis, etc.), but cannot eliminate the risk of
39 51 222
contracting infection, illness or disease. OSHA and other government
39 51 232
agencies have not yet established safe exposure limits for these
39 51 225
contaminants.
39 51 235
— If a particulate respirator had contact with disease or biological
39 51 226
hazards, dispose of the respirator according to valid waste disposal
39 51 236
regulations.
— Do not modify or abuse the particulate respirators.
— Do not use the particulate respirators as surgical masks.
— Persons with breathing difficulties, such as asthma or with a history of
heart disease, should consult a physician and complete a medical
evaluation prior to use.
— Leave the work area if dizziness or other signs of distress occur.
— Do not use with beard or facial hair or other conditions that prevent a
good seal between the face and the sealing surface of the respirator.
— Do not share particulate respirators with other people for hygienic
reasons.
— The respirators are not designed to be used by children.
— These particulate respirators do not have complete warnings or use
instructions for personnel involved in healthcare or related situations,
where there may be the possibility of contact with disease or
biological hazards. If you are considering such uses, ask your
hygienist or call Dräger Safety at 1-800-858-1737. In any case, read the
following influenza and virus warning.
Additional influenza and virus warning
When you consider to use this particulate respirator in environments
containing bacterial or viral biological agents, strictly adhere to the
following warnings and instructions.
Failure to do so could lead to sickness or death!
— This particulate respirator can help reduce inhalation exposures to certain
airborne biological agents, including avian (bird) flu virus, other types of
influenza, SARS, or other bacterial or viral biological agents; however it
will not eliminate the risk of contracting infection, illness or disease.
— Particulate respirators cannot prevent the inhalation of all harmful
particles. Rather, they filter contaminants at the designated efficiency (for
example, "N95" designates a filtration efficiency of 95 %). The
government has not established a safe level of exposure to harmful
biological substances such as those mentioned above. Therefore,
breathing a single such particle may be unsafe.
— The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend
that health care workers exposed to patients with confirmed or suspected
avian influenza use a respirator approved to NIOSH N95 or higher
filtration efficiency level. Also, respirators must be used in accordance
with a complete respiratory protection program including selection,
training, fit-testing, and fit-checking. US Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) provides detailed information on such respiratory
protection programs.
— Respirators will not prevent you from catching an infection in other ways,
such as touching your mouth, nose, or eyes with contaminated hands or
objects, or eating contaminated food. Frequent hand washing can
reduce, but not eliminate, the risk of infection from these sources.
— Never remove your respirator when you are in contaminated areas! The
outer surface of the respirator must be treated as if it is contaminated at
all times. Wash hands immediately after removing the respirator.
— Do not share particulate respirators with other people for hygienic
reasons.
— Never reuse a particulate respirator.
Mandatory Pre-Use Precautions To Take
The following pre-use precautions have to be taken.
Failure to do so could lead to sickness or death!
— Before using a respirator, you must:
— fully understand the environment in which you intend to use it.
For example, you must take measurements with appropriate
measuring devices to determine type and concentration of the
airborne particles, gases, or vapors you will encounter. You must
then choose a respirator that is appropriate for that environment
taking the respective PELs into account.
— take measurements to ensure that the ambient atmosphere contains
at least 19.5 vol. % oxygen (see "Limitations on Use").
— make sure to use only respirators that have been stored in their
original boxes. The expiry date must not have been reached (see label
on packaging).
— check the respirator for scratches, tears or other signs of damage,
and discard the respirator if any damage is found.
— make sure a fit test according to OSHA regulation 1910.134 has
taken place prior to using the respirator.
— be thoroughly trained.
— Strictly follow all applicable government regulations concerning the
use of particulate respirators (promulgated by the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration at 29 CFR, Part 1910.134).
— Ensure adequate eye and head protection.
