5. Charging Phases
5.1 Diagnosis & Recovery
As soon as a charging instruction has been transmitted to the charger, the unique function automatically checks the status of the battery
(detects voltage). If a drained battery has a voltage of over 4.5 V ± 0.5 V (for 12 V batteries) or 16 V ± 0.25 V (for 24 V batteries), the charger
starts to recharge the battery's original voltage with 1.5 A.
CAUTION! Do not charge 6 V batteries.
5.2 Main charging phase
80 % of the energy is returned in this phase. The charger operates here in several stages:
• For 24 V batteries: Either select 2 A for slow charging or 5 A for medium charging, depending on the type of use.
• For 12 V batteries: Either select 2 A for slow charging, 5 A for medium charging and 10 A for fast charging, depending on the type of use.
5.3 Absorption capacity
If you use a constantly high current for a longer period of time, you risk outgassing the battery. You should therefore use lower energy
(e. g. 1.5 A) to increase the voltage, e.g. from 28.2 V to 28.8 V (for 24 V batteries) or 14.1 V to 14.4 V (for 12 V batteries).
A full charge is almost 100 % guaranteed in this phase.
5.4 Trickle charge
The charger continuously monitors the voltage at the terminals to determine whether a trickle charge needs to be started. If the voltage drops
below 25.6 V (with 24 V batteries) or 12.8 V (with 12 V batteries), the unit starts charging the battery with charging pulses of a constant 1.5 A.
Trickle charging is constantly repeated to ensure that the battery is always kept in good condition. If the battery is not in use, it should always
remain connected to the battery charger.
5.5 13.6 V supply
5.5.1 Maintenance of 12 V lead-acid batteries: This mode is ideal for maintaining 12 V batteries with a capacity of 14 - 230 Ah.
The charger delivers a constant output of 13.6 V / 5 A. This is the maintenance mode for applications where maximum battery capacity
is needed, such as Golf buggy batteries, street sweepers etc.
5.5.2 Energy source: It is also used as an energy supply unit without attaching a battery in this mode. The charger delivers 13.6 V / 5 A.
Here are the steps for selecting 13.6 V mode:
a. Disconnect the battery
b. Plug in the power cable
c. Press the MODE key for 3 - 5 seconds to enable the function

7. Maintenance and repair
The device does not require maintenance, but should be thoroughly cleaned at regular intervals. In the event of a fault, the device must be
taken out of use immediately. Repairs must only be carried out following prior consultation with the manufacturer and be carried out by
a qualified electrician. Only use original spare parts.
