2 Safety Notes
The individual components of the remote control
system (remote control and receiving module) corre-
spond to the directive for electromagnetic compatibi-
lity 89
336
EEC. The receiving module of model AV-
/
/
102RM also corresponds to the low voltage directive
73
23
EEC.
/
/
If the receiving module of model AV-102RM is used
to control units operating at 230 V mains voltage,
the connection must be made by authorized skilled
personnel according to the VDE regulations or to
the specific safety regulations of the country where
the system is operated.
All parts where a non-insulated voltage exceeding
42 V is applied must be at a minimum distance of
8 mm from any metal housing.
The remote control system is suitable for indoor
use only. Protect it against dripping water and
splash water, high air humidity and heat (admissi-
ble ambient temperature range -10 °C to +55 °C).
For cleaning the remote control only use a dry, soft
cloth, by no means chemicals or water.
If the remote control system is used for other pur-
poses than originally intended, if it is overloaded,
not correctly connected or not repaired in an expert
way, no liability for any damage will be accepted.
If the remote control system is to be put out of oper-
ation definitively, take it to a local recycling plant for
a disposal which is not harmful to the environment.
3 Applications
This wireless remote control system is specially de-
signed for transmitting up to eight control commands
which allow e. g. to switch on or off units or particular
functions of units. In addition, an audio channel is pro-
vided which permits e. g. to transmit announcements
via the microphone of the remote control to the
receiving module.
The transmission range largely depends on the
local conditions. Without any obstacles in the trans-
mission path between remote control and receiving
module, the range can be up to 500 m, however, in
buildings it is reduced by walls and ceilings to approx.
75 m depending on their condition.

Approval
x
This wireless remote control system has been ap-
proved for operation in the Federal Republic of Ger-
many. The approval number can be found in the spe-
cifications. If the system is operated in other coun-
tries, please contact your retailer, the MONACOR
subsidiary, or the respective authority in the country
where this system will be operated.
