Installation
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Put the speakers on a flat and stable surface. Avoid the folloqing areas:
- High humidity zones.
- Zones exposed to direct sunlight.
- High heat zones (heater, fire place...)
- Very cold zones.
Note: We recommend that you keep the speaker's boxes. This can be useful in case you
need to move your speakers.
CONNECTING THE SPEAKERS
Ensure each positive terminal on the speaker (coloured red) is connected to the positive output
terminal of the amplifier and negative (coloured black) to negative. Incorrect connection can result
in poor imaging and loss of bass.
On some HD models, 2 pairs of terminals are available on the back of the speaker to permit bi-wiring
or bi-amping. The lower pair feeds the bass and the upper pair feeds the midrange and
tweeter.
Bi-wiring is the preferred method of connection and involves the use of separate cables from the
amplifier to each pair of terminals. The separation of the signal paths improves the resolution of low
level detail and allows the user to optimise sound quality by adapting the cable to the frequency
range of use.
Bi-amping can also be an interesting alternative. It consists in using two amplifiers, one for the high
and mid frequencies, a second one for low frequencies. Just connect the mid and high frequencies
connectors to one amplifier and the low frequencies connectors to the second amplifier.
Should you not want to bi-wire, perhaps during the initial set-up procedure, or to simplify the
process, power bridges are provided to .
When bi-wiring, do not use the linking bridges that
links both positive and both negative speaker
terminals together
.
