USER MANUAL
Read the manual carefully and inform yourself about the use of the life jacket. Practice donning the life jacket and
use it in water. Full performance may not be achieved using waterproof clothing or in other circumstances. Do NOT
wear other clothes on top of the life jacket. Personal flotation devices only reduce the risk of drowning, they do not
guarantee rescue.
Pre-wear check
Check the jacket cover and belt for visible damage.
Check that the CO2-cylinder is full, undamaged and tightened.
Check that the cartridge is tightened, and that the clip is secured and indicator is present.
Check that the handle is visible and easy to pull.
Use of the jacket
The life jacket should be donned as a normal jacket.
Fasten the buckle and adjust until it is tight and secure.
The life jacket will open automatically upon contact with water.
If the jacket does not inflate, use the oral tube to inflate by mouth.
If entering the water, cross your hands in front of your chest and jump with feet first and together.
Blow the whistle to attract attention.
Re-arming the jacket
Check the inflator for damage.
Secure the locking clip under the lever.
Mount a new cartridge, tighten and check that the release mechanism is lowered.
Check that the CO2-cylinder is not punctured and tightly secured.
Re-packing
Remove the cap on the oral tube and deflate the bladder by pushing the valve inside.
Make sure that all air is removed before re-packing the bladder. The bladder must be dry.
Put the jacket on a flat surface and pack one lobe at a time.
Fold the bladder inside the cover. Do NOT roll.
The inflator should be on top and visible with the handle towards the Velcro.
Close the Velcro/QBZ® (zipper) to ensure the bladder is well protected on the inside.
The handle pull-cord must be visible from the outside.
Maintenance
This should be performed frequently and at least annually. This extends the lifetime of the jacket.
The jacket can be cleaned with fresh water, with mild detergent. Remove the cartridge and
CO2-cylinder. Dry the jacket at room temperature. Avoid heat.
Check the CO2-cylinder for damage and corrosion. Check the weight of the cylinder on a scale.
The original weight is stated on the cylinder.
Check the jacket for visible damage on the cover, belts, oral tube and inflator.
Inflate the bladder through the oral tube, and leave the jacket overnight at room temperature.
If the bladder deflates, the jacket should be sent to a service station. Do not try to repair the jacket yourself.
This changes the conditions of the guarantee.
Fill in the date of service in the table printed on the bladder.
APPLICATIONS – In coastal and offshore use with bad weather clothing. Not suitable if heavy tools or equipment are
