Using an SD Memory
Card or MultiMediaCard
To insert an SD Memory Card or
MultiMediaCard
When the unit is ready to read image data, a message
prompts you to insert your media.
With the notch on the SD Memory Card or
MultiMediaCard away from you and to the right,
completely insert the card into the slot.
Notes
• When you insert an SD Memory Card or
MultiMediaCard into the unit, it is automatically
detected.
• Only a small part of the SD Memory Card or
MultiMediaCard can fit into the media reader, the rest
will stick out.
• In addition to SD Memory Cards and
MultiMediaCards, miniSD and RS-MMC cards can
also be directly inserted into the unit. When inserting
a miniSD, insert it flush with the left side of the slot
and with the contacts facing downward, as shown
below.

To remove the SD Memory Card or
MultiMediaCard
When a message prompts you to remove the SD
Memory Card or MultiMediaCard, pull it straight out.
Note
To avoid losing valuable data or damaging your media,
never remove it from the slot until the message prompts
you.
Using a USB Memory
Device
Supported USB memory devices
The following USB memory devices can be used with
the USB Memory port on the media reader of the UPA-
PC500:
• Removable USB memory device
• FAT format
Note
To avoid causing a fire or damaging the unit, never
attempt to connect an unsupported device. For more
details about the types of devices supported by the unit,
consult your dealer.
To insert a USB memory device
When the unit is ready to read image data, a message
prompts you to insert your media.
Completely insert the USB memory device into the port.
If the device does not fit into the port at first, flip it over
and try inserting it again. Do not attempt to force the
device into the port.
