5. Maintenance
5.1 General
Never submerge the appliance in water.
• Clean the cover and the outside with a non-abrasive
cleaning agent and dry with a soft, dry cloth.
• Fill the container halfway with warm water and dissolve
a packet of cleaning agent (e.g. CLEANER).
• Wait about 15 to 30 minutes and then open the valve to
drain the container.
• Rinse the inside of the container a few times with clean,
hot water and open the valve to drain the container.
• Dry the inside of the container with a soft cloth.
5.2 Cleaning the sight glass
Handle the sight glass with care.
The sight glass is fragile.
Hold the sight glass carefully with a dry cloth to
prevent injury from broken glass should the sight
glass accidentally break.
• Make sure the container is completely empty.
• Remove the cover of the sight glass canister by placing
it between your thumb and forefinger and pulling it
forward and upward. Hold the sight glass with the other
hand.
• Put your forefinger on top of the sight glass and move
the glass a little bit forward.
• The sight glass is clamped in place with an O-ring at
the bottom of the sight glass canister. This is why you
have to hold the sight glass between your thumb and
forefinger and carefully pull it upward while turning it to
and fro.
• Clean the sight glass and the notch in the sight glass
canister with the supplied sight glass brush.
• Slightly moisten the bottom of the sight glass.
Carefully push the sight glass back into the notch and
O-ring of the sight glass canister.
• Put the cover back onto the sight glass canister.
To do this, hold the cap between your thumb and middle
finger and place it at a slight angle against the container
wall. Use your index finger to press the cover onto the
sight glass canister so that the cover falls under the
edge of the container. Make sure that the tab of the
cover falls behind the spring of the sight glass canister.
