1. Phone compatibility
Before installation, make sure the customer has a
smartphone with Bluetooth Smart. DEFA Bluetooth® Hub
does not work with Classic Bluetooth. The app is available
for iOS and Android. Refer to the App Store to see which
iOS versions are currently supported, and to the Google Play
Store to see which Android versions are currently supported
by the DEFA app. Please note that OS requirements are
subject to change without notification.
2. Installation
• Place the Bluetooth® Hub in the engine compartment
and secure it with cable ties or a screw.
• The Bluetooth® Hub will obtain optimal range if located as
far away from metal as possible.
• Avoid hot areas and moving engine parts.
• Tighten the wire connector properly to the Bluetooth® Hub
to maintain the IP grade.
• Place the external temperature sensor in front of the
vehicle, for instance behind the front grille or spoiler, to
prevent influence from hot areas like radiator, head lamps,
engine etc.
• Blue cable must be extended and connected to ignition
