JS 710 PRO
exposed metal parts of the powertool "live" and
could give the operator an electric shock.
Keep hands away from the sawing range. Do not
h
reach under the workpiece. Contact with the saw
blade can lead to injuries.
Apply the machine to the workpiece only when
h
switched on. Otherwise there is danger of kickback
when the cutting tool jams in the workpiece.
Pay attention that the base plate rests securely on
h
the material while sawing. A jammed saw blade can
break or lead to kickback.
When the cut is completed, switch off the machine
h
and then pull the saw blade out of the cut only after it
has come to a standstill. In this manner you can avoid
kickback and can place down the machine securely.
Use only undamaged saw blades that are in perfect
h
condition. Bent or dull saw blades can break, nega-
tively influence the cut, or lead to kickback.
Do not brake the saw blade to a stop by applying side
h
pressure after switching off. The saw blade can be
damaged, break or cause kickback.
Use suitable detectors to find hidden utility lines or
h
call the local utility company for assistance (contact
with electric lines can lead to fire or electrical shock;
damaging a gas line can result in an explosion; pene-
trating a water pipe will cause property damage or an
electrical shock).
Secure the workpiece a workpiece clamped with
h
clamping devices or in a vice is held more securely
than by hand.
Always wait until the machine has come to a com-
h
plete stop before placing it down. The tool insert can
jam and lead to loss of control over the power tool.
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains plug.
h
Check the tight seating of the saw blade. A loose saw
h
blade can fall out and lead to injuries.
The saw blade should not be longer than required for
h
the intended cut. Use a narrow saw blade when saw-
ing tight curves.
Dusts from materials such as lead-containing coatings,
h
some wood types, minerals and metal can be harmful
to one's health and cause allergic reactions, lead to re-
spiratory infections and/or cancer. Materials containing
asbestos may only be worked by specialists.
As far as possible, use a dust extraction system
ƒ
suitable for the material.
Provide for good ventilation of the working place.
ƒ
It is recommended to wear a P2 filter-class respirator.
ƒ
The restarting protection prevents uncontrolled
h
starting of the machine after a power failure. To re-
start the machine, set the On/Off switch to the off
position, and then switch the power tool on again.
The contact protector attached to the casing (09)
h
prevents accidental touching of the saw blade during
the working procedure and may not be removed.
Before sawing in wood, particle boards, building ma-
h
terials etc., check for foreign objects, such as nails,
screws, etc. and remove them as required.
Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials,
h
such as wood, gypsum board, etc. For plunge cuts,
use only short saw blades.
Adapt the settings of your power tool to the respec-
h
tive application. For example, reduce the stroke rate
and orbital action when cutting metal or for tight
curved cuts.
CONNECTION TO THE POWER SUPPLY
Make sure the power supply information on the ma-
chine's rating plate are compatible with the power
supply you intend to connect it to.
This appliance is Class II* and is designed for connec-
tion to a power supply matching that detailed on the
rating label and compatible with the plug fitted. If an
extension lead is required, use an approved and com-
patible lead rated for this appliance. Follow all the
instruction supplied with the extension lead.
*Double insulated
: This product requires no earth
connection as supplementary insulation is applied
to the basic insulation to protect against electric
shock in the event of failure of the basic insulation.
GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS
Make sure your extension cord is in good condition.
h
When using an extension cord, be sure to use one
heavy enough to carry the current your product will
draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line volt-
age resulting in loss of power and overheating.
Always replace a damaged extension cord or have it
h
repaired by a qualified person before using it.
Protect your extension cords from sharp objects, ex-
h
cessive heat and damp/wet areas.
Use a separate electrical circuit for your tools. This
h
circuit should be protected with the appropriate
time-delayed fuse. Before connecting the motor to
the power line, make sure the switch is in the OFF po-
sition and the electric voltage is rated the same as the
voltage stamped on the motor nameplate. Running
at a lower voltage will damage the motor.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

INTENDED USE
The machine is intended for making separating cuts
and cutouts in wood, plastic, metal, ceramic plates
and rubber while resting firmly on the workpiece. It
is suitable for straight and curved cuts with mitre an-
gles to 45°. The saw blade recommendations are to
be observed.
