Using the switches:
A
A. Low Frequency Attenuation (low cut):
• Position (-): no attenuation.
• Position (┌): attenuation of 10dB/octave at 80Hz (helps reduce the background noise and
minimise a possible Larsen effect at the same time.).
B. Sensitivity Attenuation:
• Position (0): no attenuation.
• Position (-10dB): reduces the sensitivity to -10dB and hence shortens the recording
distance by eliminating background noise. This setting is generally used during high volume
and high amplitude sound recordings (for example, to properly record low frequencies
from a small instrument in a symphony orchestra).
C. Polarity switch:

• Position
: Bidirectional. Allows capture mainly in front of and behind the microphone
cell.
• Position
: Cardioid. Allows a capture coming mainly from the front of the microphone
cell.
• Position
O
: Omnidirectional. Allows capture from all directions around the microphone.
