13 Assembling the Hedge Trimmer

13 Assembling the Hedge Trimmer

13.1 Mounting the Cutting Blades

To mount the cutting blades:
► Switch off the hedge trimmer, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2.
► Fit the blade scabbard so that it completely covers the
cutting blades.

► Line up the coupling sleeve (1) and cutting blades (2) so
that the groove (3) and lug (4) face upwards.
► Push the cutting blades (2) into the coupling sleeve (1).
► Turn the wing screw (5) clockwise and tighten it down
firmly.

13.2 Mounting the Loop Handle

WARNING
To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control, ensure that
the loop handle is properly mounted and adjusted before
starting work.
To mount the loop handle:
► Switch off the hedge trimmer, @ 15.2.
► Remove the battery, @ 14.2.

► Position one clamp (4) in the loop handle (3).
► Position the other clamp (6) against the underside of the

14.1 Inserting the Battery

Never use a malfunctioning, damaged, cracked, leaking or
deformed battery, @ 7. Use and store the battery only
within an ambient temperature range of 14 °F to 122 °F (- 10
°C to 50 °C), @ 7.
To reduce the risk of unintended activation, never store the
battery in the hedge trimmer, @ 20.3.
