Maintenance
Always use the correct spark plug type. The use of wrong spark plugs
can damage the piston and the cylinder.
Maintaining the Saw Chain
ATTENTION! To ensure proper and safe operation of the gasoline
chain saw make sure the cutters of the saw chain are always sharp.
The cutters need to be sharpened when:
- Sawdust becomes powder-like,
- You need extra force to saw in,
- The cut way does not go straight,
- Vibration increases,
- Fuel consumption increases, too.
All chain saw service should be performed by competent chain saw
service personnel.
Cylinder Fins
Dust clogging between the cylinder fins will cause overheating of the
engine.
Periodically check and clean the cylinder fins after removing the air
filter. When installing the cylinder cover, make sure the spark plug is
correctly positioned.
Adjusting the Carburettor
The carburettor on the saw chain has been factory adjusted, but may
require fine tuning due to change in operating conditions. The
carburettor should only be adjusted by a professional. Incorrect tuning
may result in damage to the chain saw.
The carburettor must be adjusted with attached guide bar and saw
chain.
Before adjusting the carburettor make sure the air and fuel filters are
clean and the fuel mixture is clean and correctly mixed.
T-Idle Screw is for adjusting the idle speed. Turning the T-screw
clockwise will give the engine a higher idle speed; turning it counter
clockwise will give a lower idle speed.
