WORKING PRINCIPLE
The product is fed into a drum where it is separated by centrifugal force. Centrifugal force
separates the milk from solid contaminants according to density differences. The milk flows
through small intermittent discs that separate smaller solid particles.
The purified milk flows from the drum to the centrifugal pump and is extracted from the separator
under pressure by the centrifugal pump. The counter-pressure valve in the discharge pipe can be
adjusted to control the liquid load in the drum.
Heavy solids accumulate in the outer wall of the drum and are discharged from the separator in
partial and/or full discharges at periodic intervals. Although the solid volume is discharged only
during the partial discharge process, the entire volume of the drum is discharged during the full
discharge operation. The frequency of partial and full discharge can be set through the PLC control
panel with HMI interface.
