6.2 - CLEANING AND CARE
Shanks: Clean water and detergent
Calf pads: Let dry before caring for it. Brush once dry. Apply leather waterproofer annually. If necessary,
the pads can be washed with a little bit of water and mild washing powder.
Foot straps and T'Plus: wash with a bit of water and mild detergent. Lubricate.
Gaffs: Good honing ensures correct spiking of the gaff into the trunk. Hone the 2 upper edges, respecting
the original angles, by using a flat file or grinding machine with a fine grain wheel (higher than 80). Be
careful to not overheat when using grinding wheel (hone in short bursts).
6.3 - STORAGE
In a dry place, free from exposure to weather; shocks; heat sources more than 40°C; and abrasive, acidic
or corrosive materials capable of damaging it and/or reducing its technical performance.
6.4 - REPAIRS

PARTS GUARANTEE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF THE DEVICE.
Replacing parts:
Calf pad:
• Differentiate the right and the left sides.
• Pull the shank all the way through the sheath.
• Put the two threaded nuts on the outside (leather side) and the two screws on the inside (felt side).
• Tighten using two Allen wrenches (n°4 and n°5); tightening torque 4 daN.
Gaff:
• Attach the gaff using the M8x10 upper screw and the M8x20 lower screw with the help of an Allen wrench
(no.5); tightening torque 7 daN.
Foot strap:
• Differentiate the right and the left sides.
• Pull the foot strap all the way through.
