2. Fold the blade attachment (2) downwards and
remove.
Note: Make sure that no dirt enters.
7. Use
7.1

Switching on and off

Hold the machine with one hand on the handle
(7). Keep the other hand and body parts away
from the blade attachment (2).
Switching on: Press and hold switch lock (5), then
actuate the trigger (6) .
Switching off: Let go of the trigger switch (6) .
Thanks to the Quick stop, the cutting blades quickly
come to a standstill.
Have the machine repaired if braking time is
clearly lengthened.
If the cutting blades jam, switch off the
machine immediately.
Work in a slow and uniform manner. Walk slowly, do
not run.
Only switch on the motor, if your hands and feet are
our of reach of the cutting mechanism.
Beware of injuries to feet and hands by the cutting
mechanism.
Keep the ventilation openings free from foreign
bodies.
8. Cleaning
8.1
Cleaning the cutting blade
(after each use)
WARNING! Switch off the machine and
remove (11) battery pack. Unintentional
startup can cause serious injuries. The blade must
be stationary.
Danger of injury from the sharp edges of the
blades. Wear protective gloves.
Remove contamination, leaf debris etc.
(e.g. with a brush or cloth)
After cleaning: Treat cutting blade with Metabo
hedge trimmer care oil 6.30474 or pump spray
6.30475 (biodegradable).
8.2

Battery pack

Periodically remove the battery pack (11) and wipe
the contact area of the battery pack and machine
with a dry cloth and remove dust.
9. Maintenance
The machine must be regularly inspected and
serviced. Have damaged parts repaired before
using the machine.
It is advisable to have blunt cutting blades
sharpened in a specialist workshop. Check cutting
blades regularly for damage and have them
repaired in a specialist workshop immediately if
necessary.
If necessary, clean and grease the gear wheels
below the blade attachments (grease, order no.:
344130930).
10. Storage
Remove the battery pack from the machine for
storage. Store in a dry place out of the reach of
children.
Permitted ambient temperature for storage: 0 °C to
30 °C.

11. Accessories

Use only original Metabo or CAS (Cordless Alliance
System) battery packs and accessories.
Use only accessories that fulfil the requirements
and specifications listed in these operating
instructions.
A Battery packs with different capacities. Buy
battery packs only with voltage suitable for your
power tool.

Telescopic rod for cutting lawn edges (not
included in scope of delivery, order no.:
628426000).
Only use with the grass cutting blade
attachment (4).
Only use on the ground: The wheels must
touch the ground.
See fig. C, page 3.
Attaching:
1. Turn rubber cap (17) by 180°, contacts become
accessible.
2. Slide the telescopic rod (14) (as shown) onto the
machine. The lock mechanism (18) must
engage.
Setting the rod length and angle:
3. Turn the height adjustment (15) in clockwise
direction, set the telescopic rod (14) to the
desired length, fix the height adjustment (15) by
turning in anti-clockwise direction. Check that
the length can no longer be changed.
4. Press the button (16) and set the desired angle.
The button (16) must have engaged before
working.
