2.7 ENCLOSURES DEGREE OF PROTECTION
IP66
The equipment is marked with the lowest degree of protection dependant by certified components mounted on
the equipment. (See the marking label on the product).
2.8 AMBIENT TEMPERATURE RANGE TAMB.
The equipment is certified for a maximum ambient temperature range -50°C to +60°C with appropriate
components/accessories.
The ambient temperature range will be limited by the component (actuator, switch, pilot light, instruments
etc.) with the worst characteristics.
The ambient temperature is marked on the label and the control station should not be used outside this range.
3. INSTALLATION
Installation shall be carried out by suitably trained personnel in accordance with the applicable code of
practice (e.g. IEC / EN 60079-14) and the provisions of the national safety and accident prevention
regulations and this instruction manual.
3.1 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The IP rating of the enclosure shall be maintained by the use of correct arrangement of cable-gland and blanking
plug elements in accordance with their safety instructions and the installation rules.
The enclosures have to be installed vertically.
3.2 ACCESSORIES
The installation of the accessories must be performed before the installation of the enclosure, and following the
relevant instruction sheets.
• Back-plates made of zinc plated steel.
• Earth continuity plate type L (internal) made of zinc plated steel for metallic cable glands.(optional).
• Earth-stud (stud, nuts and plain washer) made of brass.(optional).
• Cable-glands and blanking-plugs.
• Threaded nipple with brass nut (used for assembling COMPACT-EX[GD] size 1 and size3 ).
• Blanking plug for covers elements.
Only approved and genuine SCAME accessories must be used.
