Procedure:
Note
A competent workshop should carry out the installation. Special tools and the accompanying literature specific to
the car are required for fitting the radio aerial. Incorrect fitting may lead to damage to the vehicle.
All rights to make technical changes reserved.
ATTENTION!
The radio aerial must routed in such a way that airbag operation will not be restricted under any
circumstances. Observe the instructions for the airbags in the repair manual of the vehicle in any case.
Page 1 - Fig. 1
The radio aerial comprises an aerial body -1-, the connecting cable -2- and the connecting plug -3-.
Note
The radio aerial adapter -4- is required additionally when a 3rd generation radio/navigation system should be fitted
with aerial double plug -5- (RCD310, RCD510, RNS310, RNS510) and a radio/navigation system had only been fitted
with one aerial input (e. g. RCD210, RNS300, R100).
The adapter will not be required when the 2nd generation device has been retrofitted with two single aerial inputs
(e. g. RCD300, RCD500, RNS MFD-DVD).
Page 2 - Fig. 1
Note
The figure shows both possible versions -1- or -2- for fitting the radio aerial on the passenger side. Fitting on the
drivers side is also possible.
With many vehicles, the radio aerial -1- can be fed direct behind the door seal -arrows-. The aerial body (see page 1,
Fig. 1 -1-) then lies above the drivers door.
If it is not possible to feed the radio aerial behind the door seal, the A-pillar trim must be removed and the radio
aerial must be fixed to the A-pillar. The aerial body (see page 1, Fig. 1 -1-) then lies above the A-pillar.
Further information for fitting and removing the radio/navigation system and, when necessary, for removing the
A-pillar trim can be obtained from the respective vehicle repair manual.
The aerial will be connected to beige connecting plug of the radio/navigation system (2nd generation) or the beige
connecting plug of the aerial adapter 7L6 051 551 (to be used with 3rd generation).
