7.2
The plunger is not, or only partly, extended
/i
Possible cause
The pressure relief valve on the pump is in the
"neutral" position.
The couplings are not connected correctly.
The oil level in the pump is too low.
The connected pump does not work.
The load is too heavy for the cylinder.
The plunger is jammed inside the cylinder.
7.3
The plunger extends with jerks
/i
Possible cause
There is air in the system.
The plunger is jammed inside the cylinder.
7.4
The plunger extends more slowly than usual
/i
Possible cause
One of the joints leaks.
The couplings are not connected correctly.
7.5
The plunger extends, but does not retain pressure
/i
Possible cause
The system is not arranged correctly.
The connected pump does not work.
One or more of the seals inside the cylinder
leaks.
One of the joints leaks.

Solution
Set the pressure relief valve on the pump in the
"operation" position.
Correctly connect the couplings.
If necessary add hydraulic oil. Use a pump that
can deliver more oil volume.
Inspect the pump.
Use a cylinder with a tonnage that is higher than
the load.
Have the cylinder repaired by a Holmatro
Certified Technician.
Solution
Vent the cylinder. Refer to section 8.4.5.
Have the cylinder repaired by a Holmatro
Certified Technician.
Solution
Have the cylinder repaired by a Holmatro
Certified Technician.
Correctly connect the couplings.
Solution
Re-arrange the system. Make sure that all
components are specified for the load.
Inspect the pump.
Have the cylinder repaired by a Holmatro
Certified Technician.
