Guided Changeover Solution
Device description
The Guided Changeover Solution consists of the Guided
Changeover Software and an Edge Gateway. The Guided
Changeover Solution enables safe, fast and partially
automated format changeover on plant and machinery
through intuitive and simple configuration of different
formats, creation and administration of work steps as well
as detailed operator guidance.
It provides support when setting lengths, widths and
heights (e.g. of the guide rails) and when replacing
interchangeable parts. The IO-Link components provide
immediate feedback as to whether the correct dimensions
have been set up.

Read this guide before installing and operating the Guided
Changeover Solution.
Always observe the warnings in this guide and the
measures described to avoid hazards.

Safety
Intended use
The Guided Changeover Solution is designed to increase
efficiency and effectiveness when changing the format of
plant and machinery and is intended for use in the
industrial sector. The Edge Gateway is designed for
industrial use according to EN 61131-2 and IEC 61000-6-
2. The software can be operated with approved Balluff
sensors. Please see the product for further information.
Proper function according to the information in the
technical data is only guaranteed if the product is used
solely as described in the user's guide and the associated
documents as well as in compliance with the technical
specifications and requirements and only with a suitable
original Balluff accessory.
Otherwise, it is deemed non-intended use. Non-intended
use is not permitted and will result in the loss of warranty
and liability claims against the manufacturer.
Reasonably foreseeable misuse
The product is not intended for the following applications
and areas and may not be used there:

In safety-oriented applications in which personal safety
depends on the device function

In explosive atmospheres
–
In food applications
General safety notes
Installation and startup may only be performed by
qualified personnel having fundamental electrical
knowledge.
Qualified personnel are persons whose technical
training, knowledge and experience as well as knowledge
of the relevant regulations allows them to assess the work
assigned to them, recognize possible hazards and take
appropriate safety measures.
The operator is responsible for ensuring that local safety
regulations are observed.
In particular, the operator must take steps to ensure that a
defect in the device will not result in hazards to persons or
equipment.
The product must not be opened, modified or changed. In
case of defects and unrepairable malfunctions of the
product, it must be taken out of operation and secured
against unauthorized use.
To ensure long service life of the device observe the
following:

Avoid exposure to dust, moisture and drastic
temperature changes.

Do not drop the device and avoid strong vibration.
–
Use a dry cloth for cleaning. Never use chemical
agents for cleaning.
