Safety instructions
Please read the following instructions carefully before using the convector heater.
-This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
-Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised.
-Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch ΟΝ/OFF the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal
operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.
- CAUTION: Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are
present.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet.
- Do not use this heater in the immediate surroundings of a bath, a shower or a swimming pool.
- CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting of the thermal cutout, this appliance must not be supplied through an external switching
device, such as a timer, or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the utility.
- WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater.
- WARNING: This heater is not equipped with a device to control the room temperature. Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by
persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant supervision is provided.
- Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface. Operating the product in any other position could cause a hazard.
- There may be trace of odour during the first few minutes of initial use. This is normal and will quickly disappear.
- Keep combustible material such as furniture, cushions, bedding, paper, clothes, curtains etc. at least 1 m away from the heater.
-This appliance is designed for use as a supplementary heat source, it is not intended to be the main source of heat.
-Do not use this heater with a programmer, timer, separate remote-control system or any other device that switches the heater on automatically, since a fire
risk exists if the heater is covered or positioned incorrectly.
- CAUTION: if using an extension lead please ensure you do not exceed the maximum rated running wattage/load of the extension lead.
- WARNING: this product must only be operated in an upright position.
- Do not use this heater if it has been dropped;
- Do not use if there are visible signs of damage to the heater;
- Use this heater on a horizontal and stable surface.
- WARNING: Do not use this heater in small rooms when they are occupied by persons not capable of leaving the room on their own, unless constant
supervision is provided.
- WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains, or any other flammable material a minimum distance of 1 m from the air outlet.
- Don't use this appliance in a dusty environment, especially in workshop area (sawdust, plaster dust, etc.).
Assembly of the heater
Before using the heater, the feet (supplied separately in the carton), must be fitted to the unit. These are to be attached to the base
of the heater using the 4 screws provided, taking care to ensure that they are located correctly in the bottom ends of the heater side
moldings
Operation of the heater
NOTE:- It is normal when the heaters are turned on for the first time or when they are turned on after having not been used for a
long period of time the heaters may emit some smell and fumes. This will disappear when the heater has been on a short while.
Choose a suitable location for the heater, taking into account the safety instructions above. Insert the plug of the heater into a
suitable socket. Turn the thermostat fully in a clockwise direction to the maximum setting. Turn on the heating elements by means
of the switch on the side panel. You may obtain three heating settings (750/1250/2000W) by turning the heater switch knob in a
clockwise direction.
When the desired room temperature has been reached, the thermostat should be turned slowly anti-clockwise until the thermostat
is heard to click off and the indicator light on the side panel are seen to go out. After this the heater will keep the air temperature
in the room at the set level by switching on and off automatically.
