OPERATING YOUR APPLIANCE
Ø Setting the Temperature Control
·
To control the internal temperature, adjust the
control dials according to the ambient temperature
or purpose of use.
·
The first time you turn the unit on, set the
temperature control to "FAST FREEZE".
·
The range of the temperature control is from position
"1" the warmest to "FAST FREEZE" the coldest in
the freezer section. After 24 to 48 hours, adjust the
temperature control to the setting that best suits your
needs. The setting of in the 3 should be correct for
home or office use.
FAST FREEZE SETTING:
§
The setting overrides the thermostat and will make
the compressor operate continuously, lowering the
cabinet temperature faster than if set at the max cold
setting.
This setting should only be used when
initially setting up the freezer or if large amounts of
unfrozen food is placed in the freezer, then set to the
MED setting. The FAST FREEZE setting will cause
the unit to continuously run and will not cycle on / off,
causing the unit to consumer higher amounts of
energy.
INDICATOR LIGHTS:
POWER:
This light will turn on once the unit is plugged into the power outlet.
RUN:
This light will turn on when the compressor is running and turn of when the
compressor run cycle is completed.
NOTE:
§
IF THE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED, HAS LOST POWER, OR IS TURNED OFF, YOU MUST WAIT 3
TO 5 MINUTES BEFORE RESTARTING THE UNIT. IF YOU ATTEMPT TO RESTART BEFORE
THIS TIME DELAY, THE FREEZER WILL NOT START.
NOTE:
·
Turning the temperature control to "OFF " position stops the cooling cycle but does not shut off the
power to the freezer.
·
If the unit is unplugged, lost power, or turned off; you must wait 3 to 5 minutes before restarting the
unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the freezer will not start.
·
Large amounts of food will lower the cooling efficiency of the appliance.
·
If you choose to change the thermostat setting, adjust thermostat control by one numerical
increment at a time. Allow several hours for temperature to stabilize between adjustments.
Ø Defrosting Your Freezer
· When? For the most efficient operation and minimum energy consumption, defrost the freezer
when the frost on the freezer walls is excessive or ¼ to ½ inch thick.
· Choose a time when the stock of frozen food is low.
