1. With the hood closed remove the exposed clips or screws securing the passenger side cowling. (Fig 1) The cowling can be

secured in one of two ways: with a pin that you need to pry the center out with a standard screw driver (Fig 1A); or a screw
type pin that you will need to use a Phillips-head screwdriver to unscrew (Fig 1B).
2. Open the hood. You will see more pins or screws securing the bottom of the passenger cowling. Use either a standard
screwdriver or Phillips-head screwdriver to remove as mentioned above. (Fig 2)
3. Gently lift up on the passenger side cowling to reveal the cabin filter housing.
4. Remove the old filter from the housing. (Fig 3)
5. Insert the new filter into the frame with the air flow directional arrow pointing toward the rear of the vehicle. (This arrow is
printed on the side of the filter). When you are installing the filter in the housing, the passenger side end of the filter must be
inserted in a way so the last pleat is locked into place by the retaining tab on the housing. (Fig 4)
6. You also need to make sure that the driver side end of the filter is tucked under the retaining tab on that side of the housing.
7. Return the passenger side cowling to its original position so the holes in the cowl align with the holes in the metal frame of the
vehicle.
8. Re-install the clips you removed under the hood.
9. Close the hood.
10. Re-install the cowling clips you removed with the hood closed.
