Motion detector LBB
Please read carefully and retain!
In buying this item you have opted for a highquality GEV
product. Please read these user instructions carefully
to ensure the device is used correctly. Keep them in a
safe place for future reference. Use this product only as
intended (as set out in the user instructions). Any changes
or modifications to the product or painting it will result in
loss of warranty.
How it works
The motion detector works based on passive infrared
technology. Via a PIR sensor, the detector notices any heat
sources moving within its field of detection and switches
on automatically. Static heat sources do not trigger it. The
adjustable twilight switch lets you choose whether you have
the motion detector working day and night or only when it is
dark. The integrated timer also lets allows you adjust how long
the light stays on.
Safety information
To be fitted by qualified electricians only, observing all
standard national installation regulations.
No work to be carried out while live. Circuit trip switch
must therefore be switched off.
Check to make sure the connecting cable is not live!
All warranty claims will be null and void in the event of
any damage or loss caused by failure to observe these
operating instructions. We accept no liability for any
consequential losses or damage. We accept no liability
for any personal injury or material damage caused by
improper use or by failure to observe the safety advice. In such
cases all warranty claims will be null and void. For reasons of
safety and CE approval, no unauthorised conversion and/or
modification of the appliance is allowed.
Where to install
The light is best at detecting movement when this is at right
angles to the motion detector. Motion detectors should
therefore always be set up so that likely movement is not
directly towards them.
Installing the motion detector
The wall base and the motion detector can be plugged into one
another. Disconnect these prior to mounting (fig. A - B).
Mount the motion detector as shown in fig. C - D. Connect
the mains connection cable as shown in the circuit diagram
fig. E. You can connect the load, e.g. light, etc, using PE + N + L.
Attach the motion detector to the wall base (fig. F - G). Switch
the mains power supply back on.
Test mode/test run
This test mode/test run allows you to individually set the
desired field of detection.
Set the TIME controller to minimum and LUX to sun (fig. I). If
the motion detector is connected via a separate switch, switch
this on. The auto test then runs for 30 seconds during which
time the connected load is always activated. When the load
switches off, the test run starts. The load now switches on for
approx. 10 seconds whenever motion is detected, regardless
of the current lighting levels. This time is reset each time mo-
tion is detected. The motion detector can be horizontally and
vertically adjusted (fig. H). Once the motion detector has been
adjusted, further settings can be made.
Settings (fig. I)
TIME time setting for an activation time of approx. 10 sec. – 15 min.
LUX twilight switch approx. 5 – 1000 Lux
Recycling instructions

Troubleshooting – Practical tips
Problem
Cause
Motion detector switches
• Field of detection setting
the light on too late
• Movement from the front
Motion detector fails to
• Motion detector is mounted too low
achieve maximum range
• Difference in temperature between heat source and
surroundings is not big enough
Motion detector switches
• Constant thermal movement:
light on constantly
There are areas within detection range that are
or when not necessary
not supposed to be monitored, e.g. footpaths, roads,
trees etc. Unexpected changes in heat sources
caused by storms, rain or fans.
The influence of direct / indirect sunlight.
Fails to react to vehicles
• Vehicle has not warmed up
• Engine area is very well insulated
