In order to protect the tank interior from corrosion, all CORAL-VITRO storage tanks are
equipped with a protection system by means of sacrificial anodes. The cathodic protection
unit includes a set of magnesium anodes and a load meter to be fitted on the tank. Each
unit basically consists of one or two (as model) magnesium anodes mounted on the
wiring plate of the storage tank (2), connected to the external load meter (3), that indicates
the degree to which the anode has been consumed, without it having to be removed.
To wire the load meter (3) to the anode(s) (1), (and (4) in models with two anodes), use
lead cables (6), (and (8) in models with two anodes):
- To the anode(s): M10 Eyelet terminal (11), (and (12) in models with two anodes)
- To the load meter: Female 2.8 Faston Terminal (9)
To wire the load meter (3) to the earth connection, use lead cable (7):
- To earth: M10 Eyelet terminal (5)
- To the load meter: Female 6.3 Faston Terminal (10)
Warning:
- Periodically, at least once every 6 moths, the status of the Magnesium
anodes must be checked by pressing the tester button, following the instructions
under the periodical revision of magnesium anodes included in this manual.
- Never install permanents cathodic protection anodes (LAPESA CORREX-up,
optional) in combination with magnesium anodes.
