This microphone has an omnidirectional response to sound. Its
insensitivity to handling noise makes it especially suited for hand
use. The wide frequency response from 60 Hz - 13 500 Hz
guarantees good sound quality.

This supercardioid microphone is especially suited for recordings
in difficult acoustical environments and reverberant rooms. Even
in situations with environmental noise it can be used advantage-
ousely, since all sound reaching the microphone from the rear is
strongly attenuated. It is most sensitive to sound directly from the
front. The MD 400 also ensures good quality recordings.
Connecting the Microphone
The letters LM of the model designation characterize the MD 200
and MD 400 as a microphone which is intended for use with
tape recorders with low or medium impedance inputs. Wiring
diagram LM shows the basic circuit of the microphone. Pin 1 and
3 of the microphone plug are bridged so that the microphone can
be connected directly to a large number of tape-recorders. For
connection to high impedance inputs the cable transformer
TS 514 M is available. The cable transformer serves at the same
time as an extension because it is fitted with a 5 m long cable.
Both microphones are also available as K, resp. -6 version. These
versions are equipped with 6.3 mm jack plug resp. 3.5 mm
jack plug.
