APPLICATION
The Q370A thermocouple has been designed for applications
on various pilot burners to prove the presence of the pilot
flame in gas heating control equipment.
When heated by the pilot flame a small DC voltage is
generated across the "HOT" and "COLD" junction of the
thermocouple, this voltage is used to hold in the power unit in
the pilotstat controlling main gas flow to the heating
equipment.
In the event of pilot flame failure the DC voltage is no longer
generated, the power unit drops out and gas flow to the
burner equipment shuts off.
In most cases additional auxiliary parts have to be ordered for
mounting the thermocouple.

IMPORTANT
Insert thermocouple tip into spud of pilot burner.

Secure the fixing nut

Check that the contact button is clear for good electrical

contact and secure.
Run thermocouple lead to the pilotstat power unit, en-

suring that it is not bend within 12 mm of either end.
The bending dia should not be less than 50 mm.

SERVICE
When pilotstat power unit will not hold in, check:
If pilot flame has the correct size and envelops 10 ... 13

mm of the thermocouple tip.
If power unit connections are clean and tight.

If the condition persists after checking the above two points,
replace thermocouple.
