Air supply connection
For correct use of the pneumatic tool, always keep to a maximum pressure of 6.2 bar, as measured at the tool inlet. Feed the
pneumatic tool with clean, condensate-free air (picture 1). Excessively high pressure or humidity in supply air results in shorter
life for the mechanical parts and may damage the tool.
USE
Start / Stop
To start the needle scaler, press the start lever (picture 1), and keep it pressed during the job to be performed. Releasing the
lever will cause the pneumatic tool to stop quickly.
Needle installation/replacement
Fit the needles into the scaler or replace them as follows:
• Loosen the hexagonal head screw located near the scaler body on the back (using a 6-mm hexagon driver) and unscrew the
whole tube (picture 2)
• Remove the bush and take off the worn needles (as a rule, the whole set of 19 needles, "Beta item 1944AR", should be
replaced)
• Fit the new needles into the needle bush; also insert the spring (picture 4)
• Place everything into the whole tube and screw the tube onto the scaler body; tighten the hexagonal head screw by hand;
• After checking that the tube has been firmly secured, start working.
• When the needles wear out, adjust the scaler tube (front) as follows: loosen the hexagonal head screw and make the
adjustment, pulling the scaler tube back, to allow the needles to come as much as needed (picture 2).
Always disconnect the air supply before making any adjustments or fitting in any needles. This safety measure
prevents accidental starting of the scaler.
Lubrication
The pneumatic tool must be connected to a filter-lubricator unit (we recommend Beta item 1919F1/4) provided with an air-oil
microfog mixer, set at two drops per minute. This will result in a high-performing tool and wear-resistant mechanical parts.
If lubrication is not provided to the line, oil ISO 32 must be periodically poured into the pneumatic tool, through the air supply
hole (picture 5).
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance and repair jobs must be carried out by trained personnel. For such jobs, you can contact Beta Utensili S.P.A.'s
repair centre.
DISPOSAL
The pneumatic tool, accessories and packaging should be sent to a waste disposal centre, in accordance with the laws in force
in your country.
