Replacing The Battery
The instrument will indicate 'BAT LOW' when the battery
needs changing.
To change the battery, firstly remove the unit from the
outer case. The battery compartment is on the rear of the
instrument. Using a small screwdriver ease back the tab
of the battery compartment. The compartment will then
lift away.
Open Circuit Thermocouple Detection
An error in the probe is shown on the display by a series
of bars '- - - - -' coupled with the word 'INPUT' at the top
of the display. This indicates either that the probe has an
error or the temperature is out of range.
Differential Measurement
Once the instrument has been turned on, the display will
simultaneously show the reading from Input 1 on the
main screen, and the reading from Input 2 in the top right
hand corner.
The top left-hand corner of the screen identifies which
input is shown on the main display. To display input 2 on
the main screen press the 1/2/Diff key.
To find the differential reading between Input 1 and 2,
press the 1/2/Diff key again. The main display should read
'Diff Input 1-2' and will give the differential reading, while
the top right corner displays the reading from Input 1.
Using The Hold Feature
The hold feature is used to freeze the current value(s).
When you press the key the current display will freeze
and the values will not be updated. To cancel press the
hold key again.
