Safety instructions / Operating determinations
This lamp has left our premises in absolutely perfect condition. In order to maintain this condition and to
ensure a safe operation, it is absolutely necessary for the user to follow the safety instructions and warning
notes mentioned below.
Important:
Damages caused by the disregard of this user manual are not subject to warranty. The dealer
will not accept liability for any resulting defects or problems.
If the lamp has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g. after transportation), do not switch it on
immediately. The arising condensation water might damage your lamp. Leave the lamp switched off until it
has reached room temperature.
Make sure that the available voltage is not higher than stated on the lamp.
Do not shake the device. Avoid brute force when installing or operating the lamp. Excessive vibrations could
result in damages, a reduction in lamp life, or a bursting lamp.
Before installing or rather replacing the lamp, it is absolute essential to let the lamp cool down to
room temperature and to not touch the lamp with bare fingers. Severe burns could result.
Before replacing the lamp, unplug mains lead. An accidental switching on must be avoided.
Scratched or otherwise damaged lampbodies may not be used. Bursting lamps could result.
Lamps having even the smallest damage on the lampbody, socket, or inner structure may not be used.
These damaged lamps must be carefully removed while wearing protective gear and must be securely
stored or disposed of.
This lamp may only be replaced when wearing protective gear (protective clothing, protective glasses,
protective gloves, safety helmet with visor, leather apron).
The lamp is under high inner pressure. The lamp may only be used in closed devices. Persons must be
protected from potentially exploding lamps with protective glasses, protective lenses and/or a micromesh
protective grid having a mesh diameter of 8 mm or smaller. Each person replacing the lamps must be
assured, that the device is equipped with appropriate protective gear.
This lamp is only to be used in a device with ballast resistor operating with the appropriate operating
voltage. This lamp is designed for professional use on stages, in discotheques, theatres etc.
If the lamp does not ignite within approximately 10 seconds after the device is switched on, then the device
must be taken out of operation in order to locate the source of error. The lamp is possibly defect or burned
out. Among other things, a defect or inappropriate ignition switch and/or ballast resistor could be the reason.
Under no circumstances may an unsuccessful ignition process be attempted multiple times. This may harm
the lamp and/or reduce the lamp life.
