Loading
The BAUER C 2 A and C 2 B
are
loaded with the conventional super 8
cartridge.
The
camera
is
loaded as follows
:
Push cover latch
@)
upward
;
open camera cover
@
and drop
film cartridge
into
the cartridge chamber (see ill. 2)
;
close camera
cover.
@:
Make sure
the cover is carefully closed with the latch
@)
all the way down. The camera
is
fitted with
a 'feeler'
which automatically sets the film speed within a range from 10 to 64 ASA. In a
film-type
indicator window
@
you can check with which type of film the camera is loaded.
The filter slide
®
must be set according
to
the kind of light available
'
for shooting: In
artifical light push it upward (ill. 3). in daylight push it downward (ill.
4).
For black and
white film, the filter slide remains
in
its upper position (ill. 3).
Footage counter
A super 8 cartridge contains 50 feet of film
;
this is equivalent to three and a half minutes
of shooting or showing at 18 frames per second. The footage counter
®
(ill. 5) is auto-
matically touched off when a cartridge is inserted
.
It indicates the number of feet yet to
be exposed. The footage counter resets itself automatically to '50' when the cartridge
is
taken out. This means you should take note of the footage left if you take out a cart-
ridge before it
is
finished. If the footage indicator should not move at all when you shoot,
there
is
probably some trouble in the cartridge. In such a case take out the cartridge and
push the film ahead by an inch or so. Re-insert the cartridge and the film will most likely
run on.
