is a risk of fire if a charger for a particular type of
battery is used for another type of battery.
• The battery can be damaged by sharp objects
such as a nail or screwdriver or by external ap-
plication of force. The battery may short-circuit
and start burning, smoking, exploding or overheat
ing.
Warning! This electric tool generates an electro
magnetic field during operation. This field can im
pair active or passive medical implants under certain
conditions. In order to prevent the risk of serious
or deadly injuries, we recommend that persons with
medical implants consult with their physician and the
manufacturer of the medical implant prior to operating
the electric tool.

and in accordance with recognized safety rules.
Some hazards, however, may still remain.
• Electrical hazards exist when unsuitable electric
connections are used.
• Although having regarded all considerable rules
there may still remain not obvious remaining haz
rds.

Advice for a long battery service life
m CAUTION!
• Never charge batteries below 0 °C or above 40 °C.
• Do not charge batteries in environments with high
humidity or high temperatures.
• Do not cover the battery or the charger during

• Disconnect the charger mains plug after charging
During charging, the battery and the charger will heat
up. That is normal. Lithiumion batteries do not have
the known "memory effect". Nevertheless, a battery
should be fully discharged before charging it, and the
charging process should always be fully completed.
NOTE
• Follow the battery charging instructions in the user
• Reduced operating durations after charging indi

Transport
The equivalent lithium content of the batteries includ
ed in the delivery is below specified limits. Therefore,
the battery as an individual component, as well as
the power tool with its delivery contents, are not sub
ject to national or international hazardous materials
regulations. These regulations may become relevant
when transporting several devices with lithium-ion
batteries, which then require particular safety meas
ures (e.g. for the packaging). In this case, find out
about applicable regulations for the country of use.
m CAUTION! Do not use batteries with damaged
casings.
Disposal and recycling
m WARNING!
Do not dispose of batteries in household waste, in fire
or water. Do not open worn-out batteries.
Batteries should be collected, recycled or disposed of
