Fridge Control System
The GVR medical fridge is controlled in three stages:
(Optional) Voltage Stabiliser Board [PCB version: 02; Part number: RCC97749260]
At cold start (switched on after long time), if the supply voltage is within operating range,
output starts within 3-4 seconds and LED stabilises.
At warm start (switched on immediately after switching off), if the supply voltage is within
operating range, output starts within 180 seconds and LED stabilises.
The stabiliser can provide output voltage to suit the compressor.
Medical Fridge Controller [PCB version 3.0; S/W version 0.29 Part no:
RRE97749258]
The controller uses two temperature sensors (S1 and S2) inside the water tank to decide
when to switch the compressor on and off.
S2 Temp (°C)
> 4
< 4

Compressor Starter Relay
The relay (PTC type) briefly connects a second winding in the compressor to start the
compressor motor.
There is also temperature and current sensitive OLP which protect the motor from
overheating and high current.
If the controller is supplying power but the compressor is not running the starter is faulty or
the compressor has got too hot and needs to cool down.
