3.2 Inspection plan
We recommend the following maintenance plan to make sure that your bike lasts and continues to be a
pleasure to ride:
Every time after
using the bike
After the first 200km
then every year
Between 300km
and 500km
After 1,000km
After 3,000km
After coming into con-
tact with rain / snow /
mud / sand etc.

• spokes,
• wear and concentricity of the rims,
• damage to and the presence of
foreign bodies in the tyres,
• quick releases,
• tyres and air chambers.
Check the tightening torques for the:
• handlebars,
• pedals,
• rods,
• saddle,
• seat post and
Check for wear and if necessary
replace:
• chain,
• cassette,
• cogs,
• rim and rim linings.
Check the brake hubs and, if necessary, replace the brake pad or lubricate it
with an appropriate lubricant.
For working relating to:
• hubs,
• headset,
• pedals,
• gear cables and brake cables
Clean and lubricate:
• gear changing mechanism,
• brakes (apart from the brake surfaces) and chain.
• gears and suspension working
properly,
• brakes and seals on hydraulic
brakes,
• lights and bell.
• screws.
Have the adjustment of the
following components checked:
• headset,
• gears,
• brakes,
• elements of the suspension system
Clean the chain, cassette and cogs.
Lubricate the chain with an
appropriate lubricant.
Make sure all screws are fastened.
Use a specialist repair shop to:
• take them apart,
• check them,
• clean them,
• lubricate and, if necessary, replace
them.
