b) With IR extender
If it is not possible to point the IR transmission diode
on the front of the radio receiver towards the device
you are using, please use the IR extender included
in the delivery.
On the rear of the radio receiver you will find a small
jack plug where the IR extender can be connected.
Then place the three IR transmitters of the IR
extender close to the IR receiver of the device to be
controlled. The distance should not be more than
0.5 m!
Stereo equipment
Radio receiver („Receiver")
Connect the round low voltage plug of one of the two wall plug transformers (same design),
included in delivery, to the corresponding socket on the back of the radio receiver.
Plug the wall plug transformer into a mains socket.
Put the aerial on the back of the radio receiver in an upright position. Fully pull out the telesco -
pic aerial.
Do not place the radio transmitter and radio receiver on valuable furniture without appropriate
protection.
Principle of function
Point the IR transmission diode of your IR remote control towards the front side of the radio trans-
mitter („Transmitter") and press any key on the IR remote control.
The IR remote control emits an encoded (not visible to the human eye) IR light signal. An IR
reception diode integrated in the radio transmitter receives this signal.
The information contained in the IR light signal will be evaluated and then transferred to the radio
receiver („Receiver") via radio signal.
The original IR signal will now be calculated from the radio transmission data. The transmission
of this IR signal can either take place via an IR LED integrated in the front side of the radio
receiver or via the IR extender included in the delivery.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a
specialist.
Clean the product with a soft, clean, dry cloth.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions because these might damage the
surface of the casing or impair the operation.
Do not apply too much pressure on the housing surface, this could result in scratch marks.
Dust can be very easily removed with a soft, clean brush and a vacuum cleaner.
Information on the radio range
The radio transmitter has a range of up to 100 m.
This value, however, is the so-called „open space range" (the range when transmitter
and receiver are visible to each other, without interfering influences).
In practical operation, however, there are walls, the ceilings of rooms etc. between the
transmitter and the receiver which reduce the range correspondingly.
Due to the different influences on the radio transmission, no specific range can be
guaranteed. However, trouble-free operation is usually possible in a detached house.

The coverage can partly be limited considerably by:
• walls, reinforced concrete ceilings
• Coated / metal vapour deposition coated insulating glass
• Proximity to metal & conducting objects (e.g. radiators)
• Proximity to human bodies
• Broadband interferences, e.g. in residential areas (DECT telephones, mobile phones, radio-
controlled headphones, radio-controlled speakers, radio-controlled weather stations, baby
monitors etc.)
• Proximity to electric motors, transformers, power-supply units, computers
• The proximity to improperly shielded or uncovered operating computers or other electric app-
liances
