Safety
This section describes the safety requirements and precautions that must be
observed. When installing, using and removing the Crop Scales, you must comply
with the safety requirements and instructions, and take the correct safety measures.
Read and make sure that you have understood this manual and the
accompanying documents, so that you are familiar with the safety
instructions.
The dealer must also be familiar with the requirements relating to the on-site
installation of the Crop Scales. See "Exigences d'installation" sur la page 25.
3.1
General safety requirements
The Crop Scales unit is subject to the following general safety and regulatory
requirements:
Make sure that everyone who works with the Crop Scales has received adequate
training and is familiar with the safety requirements.
Always take prompt and appropriate action in response to warnings and
notifications.
Replace broken or malfunctioning components as soon as possible.
Only use original components to perform repairs or replacements. Please refer
to the current price list or contact your Ridder dealer.
It is not permitted to modify the system in any way. Unauthorized modifications
can cause serious harm or damage to personnel, the Crop Scales or the crop.
Only use the Ridder Crop Scales for the function specified.
3.2
General safety precautions during installation
The following safety requirements and regulations apply to the installation of the Crop
Scales:
May only be performed by an authorized installer
Wear gloves
Make sure that power is disconnected.
3.3
Working safely with a pipe-rail cart
To install the Ridder Crop Scales, you will need a pipe-rail cart. Incorrect use of the
pipe-rail cart may cause it to tip over or cause employees to fall off. To prevent
accidents, you will need to take certain precautions:
Make sure that the pipe-rail cart is well-maintained and that it is stable.
Check the safety railings of the pipe-rail cart and the tilt indicator.
Support the pipe-rail cart with struts when working at greater heights.
