7.1 Measuring the Temperature
1.
Aim the IR sensor at the target and press the measurement trigger to
display the target's surface temperature. A red laser spot appears on
the target during measurement.
2.
The distance-to-target ratio is 30:1. This means that, for example, at
30 cm, the target must be larger than 1 cm to get a proper
measurement. Make sure the target area is within this field of view.
3.
The device can measure temperatures in °C or °F. Press the °C/°F key
while the device is on to switch between measurement units. The
corresponding symbol (°C or °F) appears on the display.
4.
Press the backlight button to switch the backlight on or off; in data-
hold mode, press the backlight button to switch the laser pointer on or
off.
5.
Press the mode button to display the recorded maximum value, briefly
press to display the recorded minimum value, press again to exit the
function.
6.
When you release the measurement trigger, the hold mode is
automatically activated: the last measurement value remains on the
display until you press the measurement key again, or until the device
shuts off automatically (after approx. 20 seconds).
7.
Note that the display is always on, while the laser is only on during
measurement.
