1. The whole gas system, hose, regulator, pilot, or burner should be inspected for leaks before use.
2. Check the hose assembly for signs of extreme abrasion, cuts or wear. Suspected areas should be leak
tested. If the hose leaks, inspect the visible portion of the hose before each use of the appliance and inspect
the entire hose assembly at least annually. If disassembly is required, properly check the connections
for leaks upon re-assembly. The hose assembly must be replaced prior to the appliance being put into
operation if there is evidence of excessive abrasion or wear, or if the hose is damaged. The replacement
hose assembly shall be specified by the manufacturer.
3. Avoid twisting the flexible tubes and hoses.
4. Make sure the ventilation opening of the cylinder enclosure, control compartment, burner, and circulation
air passageways of the heater are free and clear of debris. If debris, spider or insect nests are found, clean
the holes with heavy-duty pipe cleaner or compressed air.
5. Aways keep a dry chemical fire extinguisher readily available.
6. For safety, always allow a 5-minute complete shut off period before re-lighting a hot heater.

4. In the absence of any flame, remove the plug or
seal cap from the cylinder valve.
5. Check for the presence and good state of the
gasket before connecting the regulator.
6. Perform a leak test using soapy water solution.

• Changing of cylinder must be undertaken in a
flame-free atmosphere.
• Make sure that all taps on the consuming
appliance are in closed position.

The LP-gas supply cylinder to be used must be:
1. Constructed and marked in accordance with
the Specifications for LP-gas cylinders of the
U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT); or
the Standard for Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes
for Transportation of Dangerous Goods and
Commission, CSA 8339, as applicable;
2. Provided with a listed overfilling prevention
device;
3. Provided with a cylinder connection device
compatible

The pressure regulator and hose assembly supplied
with the appliance must be used, replacement
pressure regulators and hose assemblies must be
those specified by the appliance manufacturer.
PROTECTING THE CYLINDER VALVE
The cylinder used must include a collar to protect
the cylinder valve.
FILL AND PLACE THE LP-GAS CYLINDER
1. Do not store a spare LP-gas cylinder under or
near this appliance;
2. Never fill the cylinder beyond 80 percent full;
3. Place the dust cap on the cylinder valve outlet
whenever the cylinder is not in use. Only install
the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve that is
provided with the cylinder valve. Other types of
caps or plugs may result in leakage of propane.
