DESCRIPTION
VCA 500 allows to control the digital audio signal level. It is made of two main sections:
One fixed gain stage (+/- 12 dB)
One adjustable gain stage, remotely controled using a normal potentiometer.
One peakmeter displaying the digital audio signal filling, allows accurate gain setting.
XLR digital input and transformer (AES/EBU)
XLR digital output and transformer (AES/EBU)
Manage all digital audio signals formats
Digital source errors indicator.
USES
VCA 500 is intend to :
Increase or decrease digital signal nominal level. For instance a -21 dBFs signal can be
increased to -18 dBFS, or -15 dBFs.
Adjust a digital signal level, using a potentiometer, like to remote control amplified
loudspeaker with digital input.
Interface several sound level limiters like SNA 50/SNA 70 to control one or more digital
channels.
Example : using sound level limiters in large rooms, cascading allows multi channel
control.
