The refl ectors must be kept clean at all times. Ensure broken refl ectors are replaced.
. CONTROL CABLES :
Replace worn or damaged cables.
Do not twist cables.
Cables lose their tension with use ; adjust them accordingly.
Lubricate control cables regularly.
. TWIST-GRIPS :
Replace worn twist-grips. Check that they are ideally adjusted for your body shape.
. BRAKES :
For increased safety, the brake cable must be replaced every 12 months. This is part of the annual
servicing work carried out by an approved repair and service workshop.
. ALIGNMENT :
If the parts of the bike are not correctly aligned, take it to the retailer you bought it from
immediately.
. WHEELS :
The wheels must be centred in the fork dropouts. If the wheels produce unusual noises or if the
brakes touch the rims, this means that the wheels must be serviced. The wheels must be regularly
inspected in order to check that the spokes are properly tensioned and trued (centred).
. TRUING THE WHEELS :
The wheels must turn freely without any wobble.
Check the play in the hub bearings by raising the bicycle and turning the wheel.
The wheel must carry on turning round several times before stopping.
In order to check the amount of play in the hubs, try to move the wheel rim from side to side between
the fork blades. During this test you should not notice any signifi cant play. If you notice that there is
play in the wheel or that it doesn't turn freely, the hub bearings will need adjusting.
Please contact a cycle mechanic who will adjust the hub bearings.
. WHEEL RIMS :
The wheel rims must be smooth and they must not have any cracks or bulges. Check that they are
smooth on the inside in order to avoid bursting the inner tube.
. SPOKES :
Check the tension of the spokes regularly. The tension must be the same on all the spokes. If you
notice any excessive slackness, you can tighten the nipples using a suitable fl at spanner, but it is
advisable to take your MOBIKY bicycle to a cycle mechanic.
If you spot a slack spoke, or if there is more than 4 mm lateral play in the wheel rim, have your wheel
serviced immediately by a mechanic.
If you ride with loose spokes you run the risk of the wheel giving way, which could cause physical
injury.
