• Before initial operation, obtain information about national regulations regarding flying kites, maximum
cord lengths, and no-fly areas. (In Germany, the maximum permissible cord length is 100 m.)
• There is a strict flight ban in military low-level flight zones as well as in nature reserves.
• Always keep sufficient distance to other people and other kites. Avoid endangering third parties.
• Tight cords are razor-sharp and can cut through each other.
• Before each use, make sure the material is in perfect condition. Faulty kites and improper use can cause
severe or even fatal injuries.
• Check correct assembly of the kite before each use. Always secure cords in such a way that the kite cannot
disengage independently.
• Friction from handling the cord can cause intense heat. Protect your hands by wearing gloves.
• Fly the kite only within the wind force range applicable to your respective model (here: 2-6 Bft. = 6-49 km/h).
Failure to comply can cause material damage or injuries.
• Make sure to be in control of your kite at any time.
Proper assembly
1. Carefully unfold the kite. Watch out for any falling parts.
2. Unfold the kite on the ground and carefully arrange the cords in front of the kite. Secure the kite (preferably
with sand) to prevent the kite from flying away.
3. The bridle legs (A) should be fully untangled and be routed towards both loops (B) (see figure 1 on
page 2).
4. Before your initial flight, you have to secure the flying cords by means of a lark head knot (figure 2 on page 2) to
the loops (C/D) located on the pilot side and behind the knots of the bridle points on the Sport Kite. To do so,
observe the port-starboard-rule, tying the cord of the red loop (C) to the left knot adapter and the cord of the blue
loop (D) to the right knot adapter.
5. Then fully unwrap the flight cord. While doing so, walk away from the kite into the wind. Make sure both flight
cords are of same length and tense when starting to fly.
