Oxygen sensor
Ref : 482 039
1 General
The Air/Water oxygen sensor combined with the O
measures the variation in the percentage of O
Two calibrations are proposed, 0 to 25 % in air and 0 to 20 mg/L in water.
The O
2 Use
The Oxygen sensor can be used:
- In stand-alone mode, showing the data on the sensor display.
- Connected to a Foxy console, displaying the data on a computer.
2.1 Connection to the console
- Align the unit with the chosen measuring channel.
- Engage the unit on the console guide.
- Push well home.
2.2 Connection of the probe
To connect the O
care to avoid twisting the connection pins.
2.3 Calibration
Calibration of the probe is made at 1 point.
Calibration in air is simple with an already known O
calibration is adequate for all secondary school type requirements for measurements in both
water and air.
However, for users who wish to increase accuracy of the measurements, it is possible to
calibrate the probes specifically for measurements in water.
In this case, calibration must take into account the water temperature*. In fact, the
concentration of oxygen dissolved in water depends on temperature. There are tables which
supply the O
instructions for the O
This latter point should be emphasised, since to retain this degree of accuracy it is
necessary to make measurements during the TP [Practical Work Session], with water at
saturation, a condition which is almost never satisfied during TPs...
