1 Purpose
To determine the period of a periodic system using three fibroptonic modules and an
oscilloscope.

2.1 Equipment:
•
Transmitter
•
Receiver
•
Optical fibre connected to the previous units
•
Photoresistor
•
6, 9 or 12 V DC power supply
•
Oscilloscope
•
Light source: pocket torch, laser, etc.
•
Various vibrating systems: vibrator, etc.
2.2 Set-up:
•
Place the receiver switches on On and EXT
•
Power the transmitter and receiver with DC voltage; insert the photoresistor into
the emitter's power supply circuit between the black terminals of the transmitter
(figure 16).
•
If we illuminate the photoresistor, the 2 LEDs must come on.
•
Connect the oscilloscope between the yellow and black terminals of the receiver.
The oscilloscope must be able to detect the variable AC and DC components
(selector switch on DC).
•
For a supply voltage of 6 V, the signal attains an amplitude of 0.5 V when the
photoresistor is illuminated by a pocket torch.
