• Small service - every 6 months: Steps 1-3 and 8-11
• Big service - yearly: Steps 1-11
1. Turn Herbert off by unplugging it.
2. Remove overfill protection (2).
3. Place watering can below water outlet (3), open BLUE
water tap, let water flow out until empty and close tap
again.
4. Remove waterlevel sensor plug from PonixControl unit
(4.1) and unplug water hose from watertank by removing
the safety clip from the outlet and pressing the release
sleeve down while pulling the hose out (4.2). Water can
still flow out, please make necessary precautions.
5. Remove Herbert from the wall. Remove water tank from
the backside of Herbert (5).
6. Remove lid incl. waterlevel sensor, sponge and plate from
water tank (6) and clean, put everything back on after
cleaning is finished. Do not use chemical cleaning agents.
7. Put the water tank back in Herbert and fully reconnect it.
8. Remove inlays from growing modules (8).
9. Clean growing modules with kitchen roll or cloth - do not
use chemical cleaning agents. Then place inlays back in
growing modules until a clicking sound can be heard.
10. Ponix Systems advises to flush Herbert with water and
small amount of foodgrade hydrogen peroxide and let
Herbert run for 1 hour. Empty system again afterwards
(steps 1-3).
11. Begin again with the "START GROWING" section on
page 10.
