Practice deploying the airbag so you have a feel for the amount of force you need to apply. In the event of a real avalanche, you will then
be able to deploy it correctly and intuitively. Before practising, remove the cartridges from the inflator system. Now tug on the handle. You
should hear a "clack" sound that tells you the deployment was successful.
6.2. DEPLOYING THE ALPRIDE AIRBAG SYSTEM
In the event of an avalanche, immediately deploy the airbag. It is better to pull once (too) hard on the handle than too gently : give the trigger
handle a good, hard, fast tug (approx. 8–12 kg). The airbag will inflate on its own within 3 seconds. It makes a loud filling sound as it does
so. The airbag is self-inflating, independent of whether you are skiing, are falling, are lying on top of the airbag or are already captured by the
moving snow. The inflated airbags will not compromise your possible escape or avoidance of rocks etc., which you should always try to do.
6.3. HANDLING DURING AVALANCHE INCIDENT
In the event of an avalanche, always try to reach a place of safety or escape from the path of the snowslip. If on them, try also to remove
your skis or snowboard, as these have an anchoring effect in an avalanche. Once the avalanche appears to be losing momentum, close
your mouth and hold your arms in front of your face to create a life-saving air pocket. Once the avalanche has stopped moving and you
can extract yourself, do not remove the airbag and help others. Only remove when you are confident there is no more risk of a second
avalanche.
6.4. DEFLATING AND RE-FOLDING THE AIRBAG
On the following illustrations it's explained how to reload the ALPRIDE AIRBAG SYSTEM correctly :

STEP 5
Turn the backpack around and draw
the airbag zipper to the other side.
STEP 9
Close the first part of the airbag
compartment.
STEP 13
Push the last part of the airbag into
the compartment and close the
zipper completely.
