Inserting/replacing thread spool (Fig. E, F, G)
• Turn the machine over so that the cutting head (10) is at the top.
• Press the two locking buttons (D) on the cutting head simultaneously and remove the cover.
• Place the thread spool (16) on the guide axis in the housing.
• Insert the thread end through the thread outlet hole (E).
• Replace the cover.
• Make sure that the cover fits exactly into the grooves on the cutting head and that it audibly clicks into place.
• Press the lock button (F) on the outside of the cutting head and pull out the thread end so that it is level with the thread cutter.
Mounting the additional handle (Fig. H, I)
Caution: Always use the additional handle while operating the machine. Risk of injury.
• Place the underside of the additional handle (13) on the upper telescopic rod (4).
• Insert the handle (G) of the additional handle into the handle holder (H).
• Insert the mounting screw (I) through the large hole on the additional handle and tighten it clockwise until the position of the additional handle is fixed.
Mounting the guide wheel
The guide wheel can be attached in two different positions, depending on the task at hand.
- Proceed as follows if you want to use the machine to trim areas (Fig. J)
• Mount the guide wheel (15) on the safety guard (9) by sliding the guide wheel onto the provided metal plate (J). Ensure that the guide wheel snaps into place.
- Proceed as follows if you want to use the machine to trim edges (Fig. K)
• Mount the guide wheel (15) on the motor unit (12) by sliding the guide wheel onto the provided metal plate. Ensure that the guide wheel snaps into place.
Note: To avoid damaging the machine, be careful not to apply excessive pressure on the guide wheel.
Operation
Switching on/off (Fig. L)
- Switching on
• Hold the product firmly with both hands using the handle (1) and the additional handle (13).
• Press the safety lock (2) on the side of the handle.
• Press and hold the ON/OFF switch (3).
- You can release the safety lock keeping the on/off switch pressed.
- Switching off
• Release the ON/OFF switch.
Aligning the cutting head (Fig. M)
The motor unit can be locked in 2 different positions.
• Hold the motor unit (12) with one hand and with the other the lower telescopic rod (7).
• Pull the lower telescopic rod away from the motor unit and turn the motor unit to the desired position.
• Let go of the motor unit and make sure that it clicks back into place in the desired position to prevent the position from changing unintentionally.
Adjusting the cutting angle (Fig. N)
Warning: Ensure that the cutting head is fixed properly before operating the machine.
Using the adjustment button (8) you can lock the cutting angle in 5 positions between 0° and 90°.
• Place the machine firmly on the ground and push the tilt angle adjustment button on both sides.
• Release the adjustment button to fix the adjusted tilt angle.
• Make sure that the adjustment button and the motor unit (12) audibly click into place.
Adjusting the additional handle (Fig. O)
Warning: Ensure that the front handle is fixed properly before operating the machine.
To improve user comfort, the additional handle (13) can be adjusted. Proceed as follows:
• Loosen the mounting screw (H) until it can be easily moved along the handle.
• You can also adjust the tilting angle of the additional handle by loosening the mounting screw until the tilting angle can be adjusted without much resistance.
• Fix the additional handle in place by tightening the fastening screw again.
Adjusting the telescopic extension (Fig. P)
Warning: Ensure that the telescopic rod and its connecting points are fixed properly before operating the machine.
In order to adjust the length of the telescopic rod, proceed as follows:
• Loosen the lock nut (6).
• Pull the telescopic rod (7) as far as necessary from the upper telescopic rod (5).
• Fix the telescopic rod at the desired length by tightening the lock nut again.
