Initial start up
When power is rst connected, the display shows a menu page asking for the language to be
selected followed by calibration. Other menu items cannot be selected at this stage. This is
for your own safety, as the device would measure meaningless values if calibration had not
been successfully carried out. Once these stages have been completed, any other selections
can be made.
If the value overview (chapter 4) appears instead of the "Language" selection, the device
has already been used (demonstration etc.). In this case, carry out by all means a calibration.
Simply touch the icon "settings" and select the menu item "Calibration". Con rm with OK.
Continue as described below.
Preparation
Please use the calibration liquids and cuvettes supplied together with the JBL PROFLORA
pH Sensor + Cal. Fill each calibration cuvette up to the 10 ml mark, lling one cuvette with
pH 7.00 bu er solution, one with pH 4.00 bu er solution and one with deionised water (JBL-
Dest). The bu er solutions are coloured with an indicator in order to prevent confusion. For
more stability, place the calibration cuvettes in the 3 large holder spaces on the calibration
stand. Unscrew the screw tting on the storage tube of the sensor by about one turn and
pull out the sensor. Put the sensor together with the temperature sensor in the calibration
cuvette with distilled water, move it around a little and leave the two sensors in the
water. Because the pH measurement and the calibration are temperature-dependent, it is
important that both sensors are immersed in the calibration liquid.
Language selection
