wARNiNg! Make sure the Power Switch (27) of the Belt Sander is in its "Off"

position and the tool is unplugged from its electrical outlet before performing any
inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures. (See figure E.)
Before each use: Inspect the general condition of the Belt Sander. Check for loose

screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, damaged electrical wiring, and
any other condition that may affect its safe operation. If abnormal noise or vibration
occurs, have the problem corrected before further use.
Do not use damaged equipment.
Before each use: Inspect the Sanding Belt (66). Using dull Sanding Belts will cause

excessive wear on the motor of the Belt Sander and will not produce satisfactory
sanding results. Replace with a new Sanding Belt when needed.

To clean the exterior parts of the Belt Sander: Use only a clean cloth and mild
detergent. Then dry. Do not immerse any electrical part of the tool in any liq-
uids.

cAuTiON! All maintenance, service, or repairs not mentioned in this
manual must only be performed by a qualified service technician.

TROuBLESHOOTiNg
1.
Make sure to firmly squeeze the Power Switch.
2.
Make sure the Power Cord/Plug is connected to a
working, 120 volt, grounded, electrical outlet.
3.
Discontinue using the Belt Sander, and have a quali-
fied service technician check out the tool.

Do not apply excessive downward pressure on the
Belt Sander.
2.
Increase the speed of the Belt Sander.
3.
Make sure the Sanding Belt is not dull or clogged with
excessive debris.
4.
Use a coarser grit Sanding Belt.
Avoid tilting or rocking the Belt Sander or sanding in one
spot too long.
Adjust the tracking of the Sanding Belt.
Unplug the Belt Sander from its electrical outlet. Discon-
tinue using the Belt Sander, and have a qualified service
technician check out the tool.
