200A NON-FUSED, ENCLOSED DISCONNECT SWITCH
This enclosure provides ON-OFF Switched
control of a directly connected load and meets the
Requirements of Indoor/Outdoor (Type 4X, Watertight,
Corrosion Resistant) installations. Evaluated to UL 98 &
CSA-C22.2 No. 4-04 and listed as Type 4X.
NOTICE: For installation by a qualified electrician in
accordance with national and local electrical codes and the
following instructions.
CAUTION! RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. More than one
power supply may be present. Disconnect ALL power
supplies to enclosure before servicing.
CAUTION! USE COPPER CONDUCTORS ONLY
Select conductors with insulation rated 90°C or higher
having ampacity in accordance with the 60°C column of
National Electric Code} Table 310.15(B)(16) or Canadian
Electrical Code Table 2.
CAUTION! NOT FOR USE AS A MOTOR CONTROLLER
CAUTION! A non-metallic enclosure does not provide
automatic grounding between conduit connections. Install
grounding plate (with jumper wire) underneath the interior
conduit hub bushing (nut). Tighten bushing (nut) for a
watertight seal.
NOTICE: Separate overcurrent protection must be provided
in accordance with National Electrical Code® Article 220 or
Canadian Electrical Code, Section B, or appropriate.
Suitable for use on circuit capable of delivering not more
than 200,000 rms symmetrical amperes at 600 Vac max,
when protected by Class J Fuse, rated 200 A.
This enclosure includes a lockout provision: ON-OFF
control handle (in the OFF position) accepts up to ø5/16"
[8mm] shackle of a suitable padlock. Lockout device to
isolate energy from the connected equipment as a method
of compliance to OSHA Lockout/Tagout Regulation 29 CFR
Part 1910.147. This feature, however, does NOT isolate
the power supplied to the enclosure during internal
servicing of the equipment.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS: This enclosure may be
mounted for top, bottom and back conduit entrances only.
Drip loops should be created for conductors that enter
enclosure from top.
For Type 4X applications:
Enclosure must be mounted by means of mounting
•
feet. DO NOT drill, punch, or nail mounting holes
through the enclosure.
Use ONLY Listed/Certified conduit hub rated for
•
Type 4X applications.
Any unused conduit entrance holes must be sealed
•
with Listed/Certified closure plugs rated Type 4X.
Mounting feet will accept up to ø5/16" hardware (not
provided).
WIRING INSTRUCTIONS:
Be sure the connected equipment rating does not exceed
the rating of this device.
1. Strip conductor insulation ½" [13mm].
2. Loosen terminal screws.
3. Insert conductor fully into proper terminal.
Terminal capacity is #6 AWG to 3/0.
4. TAKE CAUTION THAT THERE ARE NO LOOSE
STRANDS OF WIRE.
5. Tighten terminal screws to 275 in-lbs [31 N-m].
6. Attach terminal to switch. Torque to 36 in-lbs [4 N-m].
7. Consult factory for Auxiliary Contact availability.
To Close Cover:
1. Switch must be in the OFF position.
2. Extension shaft must be oriented in the vertical position.
3. Close cover so that shaft becomes engaged to handle.
4. Squeeze handle latch completely, in order to fully seat
the shaft into the handle.
5. Tighten latch(es) on enclosure. This may be a ¼ turn
fastener or multiple latches on the side of the enclosure.
To Open Cover:
1. Switch must be in the "OFF" position to open.
2. Unlock latches that secure the cover to the enclosure.
3. Squeeze handle latch completely.
4. Pull handle to open enclosure cover. Handle must
disengage extension shaft, in order to open properly.
