The Rated Load is the applied load in a true vertical orientation.
FCL System Recommendations:
• Do not exceed the safe working load (see Maximum SWL for Various
Angles).
• FCL Series load ratings are applicable only when used with wire ropes
from Thomas & Betts.
• Do not use for overhead lifting or hoisting.
• Do not paint cable near working area of FCL device.
• Do not apply lubricant to the FCL system.
• Keep product clean and free of dirt.
• Do not use in chlorinated or caustic atmospheres.
• For use in dry locations only.
• Do not use in excess of 200°F.
BEFORE INSTALLATION:
Use only Wire Rope by Thomas & Betts.
Use only the Wire Rope size as speci ed on the FCL Fast Cable Link
being used.
Visually inspect the wire rope for broken or deformed strands.
DO NOT use the cable if there is any evidence of broken or deformed
strands (i.e. at spots, kinks, sharp creases, fraying, etc.)
Make certain the wire rope is clean. Remove any debris, grease or oil.
Visually inspect the FCL Fast Cable Link through both insertion ports to
assure no foreign material is located in the wire rope paths.
Visually inspect exterior surfaces. DO NOT use if there is any evidence of
dents, cracks, damage to riveted connection, or if body halves are loose.
Inspect both Locking Roller Slots (see FIGURE A). Make certain the
Locking Roller Spring is in contact with the Locking Roller. DO NOT use
FCL if the Spring(s) is missing or is not contacting the Locking Roller.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE:
Before use, insert correct size wire rope through both Cable Entry Ports
so that it comes through the Cable Exit Ports. Push the Release Pin and
remove Wire Rope. DO NOT use if the Locking Roller Spring does not
return to its original postion (in contact with the Locking Rollers) as
shown in FIGURE A.
